A Momentous Few Days for Moroccan Football

As this summer’s World Cup draws closer you may start to wonder which teams are going to make the biggest impact. The chances are that Morocco may not be at the top of your list. The Atlas Lions, however, could be one of the biggest headline makers in Russia. This June could be one of the most important months in the history of football in the country. Firstly, the North African nation will be making it’s long awaited come back to World Cup football after 20 years. Secondly, and more importantly, Morocco will find out if it will be the next nation to host the Football World Cup. The day before the action gets underway in Moscow the FIFA congress will decide whether to award the 2026 World Cup to Morocco or a joint USA, Canada and Mexico bid.
